Salt from the Soul of an Ancient Sea
More than a hundred million years ago, a warm inland sea covered the landscape of what is now Northeast Thailand. As this sea slowly evaporated beneath the tropical sun, it left behind something precious: pure layers of salt buried deep beneath the earth of the Maha Sarakham region.
"For millions of years, this salt rested protected in the heart of the Khorat Plateau – a hidden gift of nature."
Today, this ancient salt is harvested by local families using traditional methods. Mineral-rich brine is drawn up from the depths and left to evaporate in shallow basins under the blazing sun. With patience and expertise, fine, glistening crystals form – pure, natural, and unadulterated.
Like a flower slowly opening, these delicate crystals emerge from sun, water, and time. Their taste is clear, mineral, and full of depth – an expression of the unique landscape of Northeast Thailand.
From the salt fields of Maha Sarakham to the kitchens of the world, a new journey now begins – one that unites tradition, nature, and craftsmanship.
